WFP’s Work in Ethiopia
We’ve been present here since 1968, using food assistance to empower women, transform areas affected by climate change and keep children in school:
WFP provides food and cash transfers, targeted nutrition programs, school feeding and livelihood support to an estimated 700,000 registered refugees.
WFP offers nutrition support to the most vulnerable Ethiopians including pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under 5.
WFP provides food and cash transfers to the most vulnerable families. Stocks of food are prepositioned in case of conflict or climate-related shocks.
WFP works with the Ethiopian government to provide hot meals to schoolchildren and improve nutrition in the Afar, Oromia and Somali regions.
