ROME -- The Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), Josette Sheeran, is in Busan, South Korea, to attend the fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, where she will meet with government leaders and heads of UN agencies.

Sheeran will speak on behalf of the United Nations during Wednesday’s plenary session on “A New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States” and moderate a panel discussion during Thursday’s side event “Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition: Getting the Results”.

The side event, co-hosted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, will highlight WFP’s work with the Government of Rwanda in using Purchase for Progress – an innovative program to connect smallholder farmers to formal markets – to stimulate agricultural production in the country.

Sheeran will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with key donors during the Forum, before departing for Rome on Friday.
