Trying to deliver food to almost five million people is a gargantuan effort. Why? Because nothing is easy when conflict and rain converge to make it harder to reach families with humanitarian aid. This has been the situation in South Sudan since famine was declared in February 2017. Because of this dire situation, in 2018 WFP USA and the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) Foundation announced a $33,000 grant to fund an airdrop in South Sudan that helped feed more than 2,000 children for an entire month.
