What is an online fundraiser or peer-to-peer fundraising?
Peer-to-peer fundraising is a way to raise money for a cause that’s important to you. Create your own fundraising page and share the opportunity with your network to start making a difference.

Can I choose where the donations go?
Yes, you can choose to fundraise for a specific program area. For the full list of designated program areas, click here.
However, if donors select the “give monthly” option, only their first three gifts will go towards the program you specified. After that, donations will go to areas of greatest need.
Can I share my fundraiser?
Yes, Sharing options include a copyable link to the fundraiser, social media sharing buttons and an email with pre-written text. You can access your sharing resources at any time during the campaign within your donor portal.
How big of a goal should I set?
Choose a goal that is practical – and remember, you can change it any time. When you create your fundraiser, the default goal is $500.
What should I say in my message?
This space is completely customizable. There is a prefilled message for each fundraiser, but you can adjust it to match your personal style. We suggest telling people why you’re fundraising for World Food Program USA and why this cause is important to you. There is a 280 character limit for your message.
Can I make edits to my fundraiser after I create it?
Yes! Log in to your donor portal with the email address you used to create your fundraiser. Click on view details. There, you can change the fundraiser’s name, description, image, goal amount and end date.
Can I fundraise as a team?
Yes, you can invite people to join your fundraiser via your donor portal. At the bottom, click on “invite members”…. This creates a network of connected fundraisers working toward the same goal.
To add team members, the fundraiser’s admin can share an invitation link found in the Team performance section. When invited supporters click this link, they’re guided through onboarding screen for creating their own fundraiser profile that connects to the team’s collective goal.
Help! I’m halfway through my fundraiser, and I’m worried I won’t meet my goal.
World Food Program USA is grateful for all donations, even if you don’t reach your final goal. You are making a significant impact on the lives of people facing hunger all over the world, no matter how big or small your gift is. But, if you’d like, you can always lower your goal amount or extend your fundraiser end date.
Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, all donations made to WFP USA – including through fundraisers – are 100% tax deductible.
What activities are prohibited in connection with this fundraiser?
Fundraising campaigns are meant to be used for the express purpose of raising funds for World Food Program USA. Supporters should not use this fundraising tool for personal fundraising goals, promoting products or services or other organizations.
Additionally, when you fundraise for WFPUSA we simply ask that you help us foster a positive, inclusive environment. That means avoiding content that promotes hate, discrimination, or explicit sexual material, as well as content focused on illegal drug use.
